And Liesl loves her job?

Here is the e-mail Liesl sent me earlier today. Kind of funny.-Jayme

OMG! In the 20 minutes since we have been back from the movie, I have had one kid get in a fight, one kid fall down the stairs, and one kid poop his pants! Heck yes, I need a vacation!!!

It has happened

I have officially turned into a teacher. I am sitting here today wearing two gigantic christmas pins on my sweater. One actually lights up and blinks! I am also wearing Santa Claus earrings. It is hard to say no when my students bring me a present and want me to put it on RIGHT NOW. I guess I should break out the christmas cardigans and turtle necks! If my friends could see me now!!

What happened?

Cruz has always been a very good boy. He has always been perfect at school and almost perfect at home. He has never been much of a talker and very content to just play alone. I have been thinking that soon he will be coming out of his shell. Well, I think he has. Yesterday, he got in trouble for talking at school, and he even had to get moved away from his friends because he wouldn't stop talking! Can you believe it??? This morning I couldn't get him out of bed and he even talked back to both me and Jayme. Where did my baby go?

Overheard Conversation

This is a conversation I overheard in my classroom today:
Girl: Why do you want to go out with me again?
Boy: Because I do.
Girl: I don't think you really want to. Do you know I am a gangster and a belly dancer?
That is what I am dealing with!!!

Thankful

I know Thanksgiving is over, but I do have a lot to be thankful for. I am so thankful for my family and friends. We have been reminded lately that life is short and to live each day to the fullest. I am so lucky to have everything I have, even though I still complain. But how can I complain, when I have such a good looking son????

What a game!

We had a great time at the Utah game. Jason, this picture is for you. It is a picture of my face after we WON!!!!! Don't worry, I am sending you one too so you can look at it every day!

Kalin and Cruz both got their pictures taken with "The Crazy Lady." How lucky is that? (Who knows, maybe I will be the next crazy lady! Ha ha ha)

This is a bunch of our group tailgating. We had so much fun! I am sad it is over, but I guess I can get on with my life now!

Just a game???

I know it is just a game. How many times have I told Cruz this? But this year I just cannot stop thinking about it!! I have proudly wore my Utah earrings every day this week. Call me superstitious. I have planned all week for my tailgating delicacies. How can just a game take over my life? I will tell you how.
It is not just a game!
Go Utes!

Congratulations Kalin!

Kalin made the basketball team! We are very proud of him. One VERY big down side to this is that he has to miss the Utah game on Saturday. Sorry K, we will miss you!

Swamp Fever

Last Friday, we were in Salt Lake after the AWESOME Utah game. Mike took Jayme, Kalin, and Cruz duck hunting on his air boat. They had a great time. I should have told their teachers they had a bad case of swamp fever!

Introducing Bailey!

We have a new addition to our family! No, I still haven't talked Jayme into a China baby! This is Bailey! She is a 7 week old chocolate lab.
The kids just love her! Blaze could do without her, but I am sure he will warm up to her soon. Who couldn't love something this cute???

Proud to be an American!

Today I am very thankful to be an American! I am thankful to Grandpa Johnson for instilling in us a love of politics. And I am especially thankful for those who have fought for our freedom. Don't forget to vote!

Aaron's blog

As many of you know, Aaron is a secret blog stalker. He secretly loves to look at everyone's blog but won't comment because he doesn't want anyone to know that he has enough time to check out blogs. (he is soooooo busy) I have wondered if he has his own blog so I have been doing some checking. I don't know for sure, but I think I found it......

More Tailgating

We had a GREAT time tailgating on Saturday. Here is Steph, Cruz, KK, and Jill. Jill was mad at Cruz the whole time because he told her Lauren is still his favorite aunt!
We found a new boyfriend for Jill while we were there. Now she can move to Vernal! The football game was awesome! 8 - 0!!!!!

Superbowl & Sadies

Cruz's team won the Superbowl!! The game was on Saturday and it was cold and windy but Cruz was ready. They got to play on the high school field so Cruz thought he was a BIG boy.
Here he is playing defense. As you can see, he is not the smallest kid out there! Finally!
Here he is running the ball. He is #8. He had a great game running the ball and he had an interception that lead to a touchdown.
Kalin had the Sadie Hawkins dance on Saturday. We still don't know how he got asked by such a cute girl! Apparently he has it going on! (Who knew?)

That's my boy!

Kalin got to play in the Varsity game against Park City last night. He played the 4th quarter (they were losing and the quarterback was hurt.) His stats:

  • 7 for 11 passing
  • 102 yards
  • 2 passes for touchdowns

I'll say it again, that's my boy!

Utah!

These are some pictures from the Utah - Weber State game. We had a great time! Kalin didn't get to go because he had practice, but Cruz, Joey, and Jayce had fun.
Chad is learning the tailgating rules better. Notice the red shirt (Pink Floyd?) and Utah hat. I heard he did even better at the last game but we weren't there so I have no proof. Jill had a DARLING hat. I am still jealous because she looked cuter than me!
Jayme and I made out the whole time we tailgated. That is just what we do. Get over it!

The Life of a Football Mom

What has my life become?? I am now officially a football mom. My life revolves around my boys' football schedule. I am not complaining, I love watching them play. It just gets a little hard to watch them get hit!
Cruz LOVES football! His team has made it to the "superbowl" on Saturday. For some reason, he can never keep his shirt tucked in! I think it is from all the juking he does.
Kalin is the JV quarterback (#2). He is really loving football too.
Jayme is the special teams coach for the high school. Even though Kalin begs and begs, he won't put him in on special teams. He is a fragile quarterback after all!
Here is Kalin running for his life while playing Wasatch. Where did he get those moves?? From me, of course!!!!

What the????

Kalin had his big Homecoming weekend on Friday and Saturday. We went up to the ranch for their "day date" (whoever came up with the concept of day dates should be shot) and look what was hanging out in the pond! He stayed there for about 2 hours and didn't even mind us all gawking at him. Cool!
This was the group of kids at the ranch.
Cuter!!!!!

More dead animals

It has been a while since I posted any pictures of dead animals, so I am sure you are all going through withdrawals! Here is Jayme with the deer he shot with his bow last week. He was somewhere near Moab.
Here he is fishing on the Ashley. (This fish isn't actually dead. He did put it back!)

Go Utes!

We had a great time at the Utah game on Saturday. Here is Jayce, Joey, and Cruz while we were tailgating.
Jill and Chad had fun too, even though they broke up while trying to find a parking spot. Chad doesn't quite know the tailgating rules yet. (orange shirt???)
Kalin had a great time cheering on the Utes. We can't wait for the next game!

My Mean Sister!!!

These are all the reasons I love my sister Jill sooooo much!1. She is such a good cook.
2. Even though the mountain behind her house is on fire, she still lets her daughter go to the pool.
3. She sends me BLACK balloons every year on my birthday so all the staff and students think I am turning 40!!!!!!
Revenge is sweet, my dear!

Where did summer go???

I apologize for being such a bad blogger lately. I have been busy, but I know that is no excuse! Jill Noorda is busy and she still has time to make homemade bread and salsa!
Here we all are on the first day of school. Don't we look happy??? Jayme thought he looked like a bishop.
Kalin and Cruz were actually excited to start. I had a hard time sending Kalin to his first day of high school. He wouldn't even let me take him. I am NOT old enough to have a high school student!!!! Okay, I guess I am, but I don't feel old enough.
They are both playing football now. Kalin actually got some Varsity time in his game on Friday night. He is the JV Quarterback. Cruz is playing running back. I just hope we make it through the season with no broken bones.

Invasion of the Lopez Family

Over the 24th of July weekend we had the Lopez Reunion at the ranch. We had a great time and were very happy to have the Lopez's in our neck of the woods! We had a pinata for the kids and even one for the adults this year.
Kalin thought it was more fun to wear the pinata! That's my boy!
Jayce was the undisputed "King of the Trampoline" on the pond!
Kalin also earned the nick name "assassin." He took second place in the Texas Hold 'em Tournament out of 32 people. His dad was the only one that could beat him!

Panguitch or Bust!

Cruz just competed in the Pacific Regionals in Panguitch. His team got spoiled rotten. They got new uinforms, new helmets, and new bat bags. They were definately the best looking team there!
This was the first game they played against Oakland California. They were by far the best team in the tournament. It was a big eye opener for us to see 9 year olds playing this good!
This is Cruz laying down a bunt against Long Beach. We won that game 20 - 16. Cruz pitched the last two innings and shut them down for the win!
This is the team after the win. They were so excited you would have thought they won the World Series!
We went hiking in Bryce Canyon while we were there. It was beautiful! Too bad Kalin had to miss out. (he was home puking) We missed you K and are glad you are better!
